Update 26 Safr 1435h: Another Committee arrives

Day 82:

Today seemed to be a better day. A committee of tribesmen from Dhammaar arrived in Sa'dah a few days ago with about 400 of their men. A group from them came to Dammaaj today and there were some arrangements discussed. The committee said they would attempt to implement a cease-fire, transport the injured students, enter food, and try to open up the roads. They requested Sheikh Yahyaa to form a committee made up of four individuals to negotiate cease-fire terms. Sheikh Yahyaa said he sees good from this new committee. 

After the ‘Ishaa prayer the houthis shelled near the exit of the masjid at the time of people leaving, then afterwards near the emergency shelter for the women and children. As we mentioned before we have seen some of the most vile and disgraceful acts any of us have ever seen. But some say otherwise regarding the houthis.

There is word that the houthis have been preparing for a big heavy artillery attack. We can see some new structures built in the surrounding areas. As this has become the way of our lives here now waiting on the houthis to attack us. For indeed, we do not have the ability to initiate any kind of offensive attack. Delegates from Dammaaj are trying, as they have since the beginning of this wicked act of the houthis, to encourage the government, their affiliates, the tribes, etc. to intercede and prevent further unnecessary bloodshed.  

It should be understood that if the Yemeni Government wants to shut down Daarul Hadeeth Dammaaj we say as Sheikh Muqbil said before all the President would have to say is close the institute. Without spilling the blood of the Muslims. We find contentment in following what the Qur’aan and the Sunnah orders to (i.e. obeying the Ruler).

For the last three nights we have heard  a plane flying over us. We can only assume that it is our same white plane.

Update 21 Safr 1435h: Day 77 of the houthi's war on Al-Islaam and the Muslims

Day 77: 

This last week has been somewhat calmer. There is an occasional fire from heavy artillery but the houthi snipers are still relentless. Still there are students being killed and injured daily. Every night, all hours of the night, the houthis blast their speeches and music on loud speakers from different directions sometimes simultaneously.  

Yesterday we buried a young boy named Mu'aad An-Nakha'i. He was murdered by a shot from a houthi sniper to his head . Today we buried another young boy Hamza As-Sumaali Ad-Daaroodi. He was killed by shrapnel that went into his head. Two other students were injured at and around the time Hamza was injured. 

The white surveillance plane that has been hovering over us since before the first siege has been very busy these last 5 or 6 days. Usually keeping a schedule starting after about 4p.m. until 7 to 8p.m. Also a appeared to be military helicopter was spotted flying over yesterday.

 It is said that the houthis are planning a big hujoom (attack). They have recently built a station for their tank in one of the mountainous areas that surround the Markaz (the institute).  It is said they they want to attack the main Masjid and maybe even they will attack the shelters for the women and the children which they have done throughout this siege.


There has been an increase in the fierce fighting between some of the prominent Tribes of Yemen and the houthis. Particularly the former Presidential candidate Hussein Al-Ahmar from the tribe of Hashid. In general the people of the Sunnah from the tribes and other than them in Yemen are well aware of the reality of the of houthis. It is known that they are a heretical militant terrorist group who fight Al-Islaam in the name of Al-Islaam and are the perpetrators of various criminal acts upon the people of Yemen. The people have chose to follow that which Al-Islaam orders and to aid their brothers in Dammaaj. Not as many misinterpret that this is a sectarian war or some type of power struggle. This is simply an act of terrorism that many have chose to keep quiet about. Many of the Yemenis believe that it is some sort of outside pressure or influence that has subdued the Yemeni Government and are preventing them to aid in any way.

There is a total concensus amongst the Scholars of Yemen, many of the Scholars of Saudia who are aware of this crisis and the Tribes of Yemen for jihaad (struggle) against the oppression and tyranny of the houthis.

Update 15,16 Safr 1435h: Tribal Gathering this Friday

Today we buried our beloved brother Khaalid As-Sanaafi. A day before his murder a companion of his said he will invite him to eat the next day Khaalid said, "invite me today because tomorrow I will be traveling (die a Shaheed). The next day (yesterday) he was murdered by a houthi sniper. Another one of his companions was unable to reach Khaalid before he was murdered to tell about a dream he had of him. Khaalid's companion said he had a dream that there were two extremely beautiful women looking for him (Khaalid). May Allah accept him and the rest as Shuhadaa.

The white surveillance plane has been very busy these last few days even at night. Its flying over us now as we hear artillery fire from a tank or cannon.


These last few days have been fairly quiet (sniping and occasional shelling). So some of us were able to return home with our families for good night’s sleep . Many of the students had to abandon their homes due to the random shelling and sniping of the houthis. One would sit in his house all day and night in fear supplicating to Allah not knowing when a tank, cannon, mortar or bullet would come through the house and kill someone as has happened many times so far. 

This quietness may be due to the called gathering of the tribes of Yemen this Friday to end this obvious act of terrorism on more than 15,000 people. Many people criticize the tribal way in Yemen but they (the tribes) seem to be the only ones who have acted in accordance to Islaam in this destructive act of the houthis. By way of helping the oppressed against the oppressor, answering the call of ones brother in need of help, etc. While government officials and the media sit silent twisted up in the lies and the deception of the houthis, damaging political methods and destructive ulterior motives. As one houthi spokesman says in an interview that there is no blockade the people coming and going for food in Dammaj only weapons. So I guess we are imagining this whole thing! It seems that government officials and the media have very little knowledge when it comes to The Deen (Religion) of Al-Islaam. This is just as harmful to us as the houthis. To this day they are not able to make distinction between the oppressed and the oppressor. THIS IS A CLEAR WAR ON AL-ISLAAM. The Methodology of the Muslim is to help the oppressed against the oppressor by stopping the actions of the oppressor. But what we have seen so far is the opposite.

This is the aftermath of the first tank attack on the Main Masjid in Dammaaj. The only one who died in this attack was an elderly man who was known for sitting in his same spot everyday reading Qur'aan. This picture illustrates the clear war against Islaam of the houthis.

 

Our Advice to you oh our Muslim brother in Islaam from the Government and the Media:

Ibn Mas’ood, one of the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad said:

He heard a man saying, “He who does not order that which is good and forbid what is evil, is condemned.” Ibn Mas’ood replied, “He whose heart does not know the difference between good and evil is condemned.”

The Renowned Scholar Ibn Rajb said in his explanation of this Athar of Ibn Mas’ood:

“Ibn Mas’ood pointed out that the heart’s knowledge of good and evil actions is obligatory from which no one is excused from. Therefore, he who does not know the difference (between good and evil) will be destroyed.”

The White Plane returns:

Yesterday and today a white surveillance like plane was spotted circling over Dammaj. We have seen this plane appear periodically for maybe over a year now. It’s too high to distinguish what kind of plane it is. Even though it’s far away it doesn’t look small. It usually circles for an hour or two. 

Last night at least four students were killed in a 9 hour attack from the houthis that started at the time sunset prayer (approximately 6pm) until the first call for the morning prayer (approximately 3am ). The area is called the Watan where strictly students live. The houthis pounded repeatedly with their usual (tanks, mortar shells, heavy machine gun fire, and anti-aircraft weaponry).
